[VIDEO] Woman’s Life Was Changed Forever After Adopting A Senior Dog That Nobody Wanted

When people go right to animal shelters to adopt a dog, most will usually adopt the younger ones. People prefer younger puppies because they assume that they’re easier to train and also because they will live a lot longer. However, adopting a senior dog is also very rewarding.

A woman named Kat was visiting an animal shelter looking to adopt a dog. She really didn’t have any preferences but one dog caught her attention. Kat came across a senior dog named Alaska who had gentle eyes that told Kat that she wanted to get out of the shelter.

Alaska spent most of her years living in the shelter and nobody seemed to want to adopt her because of her age. However, Kat came along and there was an instant connection. Kat wanted to give Alaska the life that she deserved and she eventually ended up adopting her.

The first few days weren’t easy as Kat expected. Alaska was easily startled and she avoided physical contact with her new mom. Alaska didn’t trust Kat yet but Kat never gave up. Kat saw that Alaska badly wanted to love and be loved but she needed some time to learn.

Alaska didn’t even act like a dog. When Kat bathed Alaska, Alaska was so tired that she just fell asleep in the tub. Kat knew that it was going to take some time for Alaska to emotionally heal and realize that she’s finally in a safe place. There were times that Kat would have given up and returned Alaska to the shelter but she was determined to give Alaska the life that she deserved.

Eventually, Alaska started to open up to Kat and show her happy personality. It took months for Alaska to finally realize that she’s in her forever home and that Kat is her new mom. Even as a senior dog, Alaska is still full of life. She loves to go on hikes and go running with Kat.

However, Kat also learned a lot from Alaska. Kat would never imagine herself doing something so amazing for another living creature. Although Kat doesn’t consider herself a selfish person, she never would have thought of herself that she could selflessly put another creature’s life first over hers.
