Fostering a dog is a huge responsibility. Aside from keeping them fed and giving them a comfortable place to sleep in, fostering rescue dogs also means getting them ready to be adopted and making sure that they’re socialized. Now, imagine what it would be like to foster a pregnant rescue dog.
A woman named Carter decided to foster a pregnant rescue dog named Pebbles. She was very pregnant when Carter took her in and she was just about ready to give birth. Pebbles is a sweet, gentle, and obedient dog and Carter didn’t have any problems with her.
Pebbles loved being around Carter all the time and it seemed like it was going to be easy fostering Pebbles. However, it was Carter’s first time fostering a pregnant dog. She was totally caught unprepared when the big day came.
However, Carter did manage to help Pebbles give birth to a few of her puppies. Pebbles started giving birth at 2 AM and Carter counted five puppies. Carter thought that five puppies were manageable and she’d have no problems helping Pebbles raise them.
While watching Pebbles nurse her five puppies, Carter suddenly saw that Pebbles started getting contractions again. She realized that she wasn’t finished giving birth. By the time all the puppies were born, Carter was shocked to find out that Pebbles have given birth to 14 puppies.
Pebbles became quite busy taking care of all her babies. Despite the huge number of puppies she had, she was a great mom to all of them. She cleaned them, nursed them, and when they were strong enough, even accompany them in the garden to play. Pebbles was such an amazing mom.
Despite being overwhelmed by the large litter of puppies, Carter was so happy that she became a part of their lives. Like Pebbles, Carter was also quite busy with the puppies by cleaning up after them and also feeding Pebbles and keeping her strong for her puppies.
Eventually, Pebbles and her puppies were finally ready to go to their forever homes. It was an emotional time for Carter but she was also happy that Pebbles and her puppies went to loving forever homes. Pebbles was renamed Zara and now enjoys spending time with her new family. Here’s a heartwarming video featuring Pebbles and her puppies.
