Fergus and his family were waiting for the stoplight to become green when they were abruptly rear-ended by a truck. The 200-pound Irish Wolfhound was ejected from the vehicle’s backseat as a result of the collision.
Fergus was so shaken by the catastrophe that he attempted to flee from his family’s automobile. His human father swiftly exited the van to pursue him but was unable to catch up.
Rebecca Norris DiNapolis, a realtor and friend of Fergus’ owners, learned of the tragedy and she swore not to stop until the dog was reunited with his family. She plastered Fergus’ photos all over her Facebook account and asked everyone to contact her if they saw him.
Rebecca recalled that her family and even strangers shared her Facebook post over 500 times. She claimed that she was so determined to find her friend’s dog that she walked up and down the side of the road where the accident occurred in search of Fergus.
In the midst of snow and rain, Rebecca and Fergus’ owners spent hours exploring surrounding roads, neighborhoods, and even train tracks. The huge dog, on the other hand, was nowhere to be found.
When the realtor’s friend, Renee Stewart, called her, Rebecca and Fergus’ owners’ hopes began to rise. Renee and her mother had happened to look out in their driveway and noticed Fergus standing calmly there.
When Renee handed Fergus some water and food, the huge dog walked right up to her and into the back porch. By the time Rebecca arrived at Renee’s house, Fergus’ fur sibling had also just arrived.
The dog’s fur sister sobbed uncontrollably when she saw Fergus safe and unharmed. After watching the two reunite after almost a week apart, Rebecca and Renee stated they couldn’t help but cry.
