When an abandoned pregnant dog gave birth on the streets in 2020, the people who saw it knew they had to help.
After giving birth to six puppies, the mama dog seemed exhausted. The dog looked really weak to even care for her newborns.
Because of the dog’s condition, two of her babies died. Fortunately, rescuers immediately arrived to lend a helping hand to the poor mama dog. This became possible after several concerned citizens contacted the rescuers about the dog’s condition.
But rescuing the puppies proved difficult for the rescuers. This is because whenever they attempt to touch the puppies, the mama dog becomes too aggressive.
While they are already used to this situation, the rescuers still act with care. They know that the mama dog is a stray, so that explains why she is aggressive. Luckily, the rescuers found a way to calm down the mama dog.
The rescuers initially fed the exhausted mama dog, and while she was eating, they rescued the puppies one by one. After that, when the mama dog was already calm, they also loaded her into the vehicle.
The rescuers then brought the dogs to a local veterinary clinic to get checked. The veterinarian who checked on the mama dog said that she was healthy.
Meanwhile, the surviving puppies are likewise in top shape. This development gave the rescuers a sigh of relief as they no longer need to worry about the puppies’ condition.
When the dogs received clearance to go, the rescuers brought them to a local animal shelter. The mama dog and her puppies will stay there for a while until they find a foster family.
For now, the local shelter is ensuring that the mama dog is eating enough and receiving vitamins. This is to ensure that the puppies will receive enough nutrition from her.
