Missing Elderly Woman Found Knee-Deep In Water By Dog

People say that a dog named Batman helped a woman find her way back home to her family after she got lost in a pond.

FOX10 Phoenix says that Abby Leathers saw that her dog was acting strangely while they were both at home.

Bruce, the dog she had taken in as a stray, scratched at the door as if he really wanted to go outside. Abby finally did what he asked. Bruce ran out the door like he was on a mission right away.

Abby told FOX10 Phoenix that he ran right to a pond close by. She followed Bruce all the way to the water and saw that he seemed to know where he was going and why.

Abby was shocked to see an old woman in the water when they got there.

Abby told FOX that the woman didn’t speak English, which made it hard for them to talk. “She was standing about two or three feet down in water that came up to her knees,” she said.

Abby finally got her out of the pond, wrapped her in a blanket, and called the police.

While the police and paramedics helped the woman before the police arrived, her family called the police. They were trying to find her because they thought she was missing, but Abby and Bruce had already found her.

“I would never have known she was out there. She could have frozen. She could have drowned,” Abby said. “Thanks to Bruce, she got to go home.”
