If anyone still doubts how loyal dogs are, this amazing story shows again what these animals can do.
Volunteers at an animal shelter in Uzhgorod, Ukraine, have seen some heartwarming things. A loyal dog kept watching over and taking care of his furry friend for at least a few days.
It looks like the dog was hurt (probably by a train) and got stuck in the tracks. The poor dog seemed doomed because it couldn’t move, but her loyal friend never left her side.
He was also brave enough to protect her by telling her to keep her head down when the trains went by. As if things weren’t already bad enough, the very low temperatures made them even worse.
Denis Malafeyev, who was part of the rescue team, posted the story on Facebook. “When we arrived, it turned out that one of the dogs, the female, was injured and couldn’t move,” Denis wrote in a Facebook post.
“The male dog heard the sound of the approaching train, came close to the female dog, and laid down next to her… Both of them pushed their heads toward the ground, and let the train pass.
“The male dog was doing this for two days in a row. Think about it. He was keeping her warm,” the rescuer wrote.
Both dogs were saved and taken to a local shelter where they were treated for their injuries. Later, the people who came to help found out that the two dogs, named Panda and Lucy, had gotten lost. So when Lucy got better, she and the other dog returned to their owner.
