A friend of Lenier Mesa, a Cuban singer, brought an 8-week-old Pomeranian to the clinic for vaccinations. For the most part, it is a simple and quick procedure.
For the lovely dog, however, things did not go as planned. An unknown woman stole the dog and escaped when no one was looking.
When Mesa got the news, he was devastated, and he offered a $1,000 reward to anyone who could locate the dog. Fortunately, the dog ended up in the hands of a trustworthy person, who promptly returned him to his owner.
Panda, the Pomeranian, was kidnapped from Florida’s Best Care Animal Clinic. A woman was seen standing near Panda’s carrier while one person checked out at the counter and another sat in the corner with a dog, according to surveillance footage. When no one was looking, she slid the puppy out of the carrying bag and hid him beneath her shirt.
The woman quietly walked out with the puppy, as if nothing had happened. No one asked why she wasn’t bringing a pet with her at the time. However, the vet mentioned that people routinely come in to pick up their pets or purchase medications, so nothing seemed unusual up until that point.
Mesa used social media to help him find the woman after seeing the video footage. He found out her name is Madelyn Acosta, and cops looked into it. Mesa even offered a prize of $1,000 for Panda’s safe return. It wasn’t long before someone came forward with information.
A homeless man returned the lost Pomeranian to the vet clinic. The dog was handed to him by the culprit, so he did the right thing and returned it, according to reports. Mesa isn’t sure if he thanked the homeless man, but he’s glad to get his puppy back.
Although officials are investigating, it is still unknown whether the woman who stole Panda has been apprehended. Of course, keeping a close eye on your dog when you’re out in public is essential, but it’s certainly upsetting that someone would do this to a vulnerable dog. Panda is fortunate to be back at home, surrounded by adoring humans.
