You can never ever deny that dogs are man’s best friend. Aside from being trusted companions, dogs offer useful assistance that makes their humans’ lives much easier and more comfortable. Proof of this is the number of guide dogs helping their visually impaired owners.
But you don’t have to be physically disabled to experience a dog’s kindness. One woman got her foot sprained, but her Golden Retriever took the initiative to make her feel better.
The Golden Retriever doubles as a nurse
In a short yet adorable clip shared on Instagram by a page called Cuddle My Dog, you could see how a Golden Retriever named Olive diligently cared for her injured mom. In the video’s first few seconds, the kind pup was watching her dad wrap the bandage around her mom’s foot. The clip cut to another frame where Olive was guarding her mom’s foot. This particular part, though, was hilarious because the pup was sleeping while on duty.
There was another scene in the adorable clip where the Golden Retriever was reminding her mom to take her ice pack. She did this by pawing at the ice pack that mom was about to apply to her injured foot.
The earnest pup even monitored if the foot massage was being done properly. You could also see Olive licking her mom’s foot, probably an attempt to reduce the pain. Lastly, the Golden Retriever rested her head on her mom’s foot; the text on the video said that this would help her mom’s foot heal faster.
The netizens are all praises for the pup
Olive’s attempt to make her mom feel better immediately went viral. Currently, it has more than 190K likes and over 400 comments.
One commenter said that the pup was the best baby. Another seemed to agree with that statement by saying that Olive was so sweet. A third netizen implied that the pup’s efforts made him cry.
