All of our pets do weird things, but this one is different: a Texas dog named Huck likes to jump up on the roof of his house and hang out. He and his family have put a letter out front to tell people not to be afraid but to take pictures and post them on social media if they want. #hucktheroofdog
He gets so much attention that the Lindemuths know that if someone knocks on their door, it’s probably because of him. He climbed up on the roof and looked down at the world below since he was nine months old.
When Huck jumps from the roof in the backyard, it’s understandable that people would be worried. The roof is only about three feet above the ground, so it’s not that far for him to go, although you can’t tell from the outside.
People keep knocking on the Lindemuths’ door to tell them about the dog that lives on their roof. They put a note out to tell people why because they thought it would help cut down on the number of people who came by.
Don’t be alarmed!!! Huckleberry is living up to his name and learned how to jump onto our roof from the backyard. We never leave him in the backyard without someone being at home. He will not jump off unless you entice him with food or a ball.
We appreciate your concern but please do not knock on our door… we know he’s up there! But please feel free to take pictures of him and share with the world! #hucktheroofdog
Huck now has his own Instagram account, which you can be sure will soon be full of pictures of roofs.
