A man living in the rural part of Manitoba, Canada happened to hear puppy noises on his property. Instead of rescuing the puppies himself, he did the right thing to call for help. He reached out to an animal rescue organization called K9 Advocates Manitoba who dropped everything as soon as they heard the story.
The property owner wasn’t sure about how many dogs there were on his property but he knew that they really needed to be rescued as soon as possible. Winter was coming and the man knew how harsh the weather could get in Manitoba. The puppies would have better chances of surviving if they had proper shelter and people taking care of them.
Upon arriving at the property, one of the rescuers, Brandon Oliveira, found the mama dog immediately. However, the mama dog only had one puppy with her. Brandon and his fellow animal rescuers started to comb the property for the other puppies but they couldn’t find them anywhere.
However, the one little puppy suddenly took off and ran in one direction. Brandon decided to follow the puppy knowing that it was strange that the puppy just ran off like that. Eventually, the puppy ended up leading Brandon to a shed where the other puppies were hiding.
The puppies were understandably terrified. They’ve never interacted with humans before and they refused to come out from under the shed. The rescuers needed to be a little creative to get the puppies out. They used dog treats and a lot of patience to slowly lure the puppies and secure them in a crate.
All four puppies were finally in safe hands and they were all healthy. The mama dog did such a great job taking care of her babies. Brandon and the other animal rescuers drove off with the puppies and the mama dog where they were all transferred into their foster homes.
It didn’t take long for all the dogs to find their forever homes, including the mama dog. Thanks to Brandon and that one puppy who led the rescuers to her siblings, all of them are now living the best life with loving families who gave all of them comfortable and warm homes. Here’s the video showing the rescue.
