Odin is a small dog with small paws, small ears, and a small tail that wags when he’s happy. On the pup’s recent birthday, though, Odin did something that was anything but little.
His smile.
Odin resides with Joyce Cetina and her family in Mexico. Since his adoption by the family three years ago, Odin has lavished them with love and affection every single day.
“He’s a very faithful companion,” Joyce told The Dodo. “He loves to hug and play.”
As Odin’s birthday neared earlier this month, the Cetina family decided to go above and beyond to celebrate. They gave Odin a surprise party to express their appreciation for him.
Indeed, Odin was shocked and moved that they remembered his birthday:
The Cetinas purchased a dog-friendly cake and hung decorations for the occasion.
Then, the surprise was disclosed to Odin.
“At first, he was a little confused. He didn’t understand what it was all about,” Joyce said. “Then he saw the attention was focused on him, and the cake was for him. He was very happy.”
Obviously, no birthday would be complete without a birthday song, and Odin’s was no exception.

“He loved it,” Joyce said.
After that, Odin was given several presents, which he also enjoyed. But, Joyce said, “above all, he liked the many kisses and hugs he received.”
Little puppies like Odin deserve nothing less.
Despite the fact that it was technically Odin’s birthday (or rather, the anniversary of the day they adopted him), his family feels as though they have received the greatest present of all.
“Of course, Odin is loved and pampered all year round,” Joyce said. “But for us, this is an important day because it’s the day he came into our lives. He makes us very happy.”
