A company in Turkey called Pugedon has developed a vending machine in Istanbul that collects bottles to be recycled and dispenses food to the city’s stray dogs. This machine, which is located in Istanbul, is a somewhat bizarre but effective way to accomplish the task of killing two birds with one stone.
The dog food that the machine dispenses is covered by the profit that is made from selling recycled bottles, thus the equipment is able to function properly. The city of Istanbul is notorious for its large population of stray dogs; according to some estimates, there are as many as 150,000 of them.
Others want to get rid of the dogs because of their aggressive nature and their role as disease vectors, but some locals enjoy having the dogs around because they have adapted so well to city life that they stop at traffic lights and walkways.
More than 150,000 strays roam the streets of Istanbul.
This machine is beneficial to them since it enables them to provide for their nutritional needs.
When they put their bottles in the recycling machine, it gives out meals to the homeless dogs nearby.
In the event that you no longer need your water, it also comes with a basin for holding water.
