Here’s another story that shows that bully breeds don’t deserve the bad name they have gotten.
Latana Chai, a mother from California, was at home with her 7-month-old baby, Masailah, when the unthinkable happened.
On June 3, 2018, just before midnight, Latana heard her 8-month-old pit bull, Sasha, barking loudly and banging on the door in their backyard.
Latana knew right away that something was wrong because the barks were so frantic and angry. This wasn’t like her usually quiet dog at all.
She ran down to the basement and opened the back door to see how Sasha was doing. When she looked up, black smoke and flames were coming from her neighbor’s house.
The fire spread quickly from her neighbor’s house to her own.
Latana ran back into the house to get Masailah, but Sasha was already holding her. She grabbed the baby’s diaper and pulled her off the bed.
“[Sasha] saved everybody,” Latana told KTXL. “Because if it wasn’t for her, I don’t think that any of us in this complex would have known anything.”
