Being a mother is a beautiful privilege. After all of that hard work, those long nights without sleep, fevers, and messes, all a mother can really ask for is to be able to watch her children flourish and grow as they become older.
However, there are times when the path to becoming a mother isn’t as easy sailing as one might expect. In point of fact, there are occasions when it’s not just bothersome but downright exasperating.
To our good fortune, even when young animals are a nuisance to their mothers, we find it endearing to watch them struggle.
She’s gotten clawed in the face too many times to count.
“I told you already, I’m not your mother. Please leave.”
“…At least he’s finally asleep.”
“I’m trying to nap, dear.”
It’s like tugging on your earring…but worse.
“Can we go to the park now? Please, please. Please. Please, PLEASE?”
“Mommy just wants to get a little bit of sun.”
Just wait till it’s time for the tiny ones to leave the nest and go to kitten or dog college… These trying times will be removed entirely from memory and replaced with the melancholy (or euphoria) that comes with having an empty nest. Have fun while it lasts!
